St. Jude Children’s Hospital its dedicated to finding cures for catastrophic diseases of children. Through research and development of treatments. The research focuses specifically to cancer, to immunodeficiency acquired and hereditary and genetic disorders. Danny Thomas opened doors to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in 1962; he was no just changing the live of those children who would walk trough its door no matter the race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. Receive federal support through the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute.

St. Jude serves approximately about 7,800 patients each year. Most of these children receive outpatient treatment. The daily maintenance cost of the hospital is $ 1.7 million, which are primarily covered by public contributions. St. Jude has approximately 3,600 employees. There vision is to be the first world leaders in advancing the treatment and prevention of cancer. This vision will be pursued by providing patient care by conducting basic translational and clinical research designed to elucidate biological mechanisms, understand disease pathogenesis, improve diagnose, enhance treatment outcome, prevent diseases and minimize adverse consequences of treatment. Through these efforts they seek to cure and enhance the quality of life for an increasing proportion of children that go to the St. Jude for treatment, and by expanding and sharing knowledge, to advance treatment of children with catastrophic diseases worldwide, while developing strategies to prevent catastrophic diseases in children.

One of its main responsibilities are children with catastrophic illnesses. Their commitment is to offer patients to the best quality care and support to family members of the patient. It is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. This Hospital has helped many children but also needs our support. We can help by donating even $5.00 dollars a month. That $5.00 dollars could change the life of a child with cancer. It’s a place that must be recognized and supported by every human that can help, because of the efforts they made to save angel of God.

My Autobiography

  • My name is Mark D. Ojeda Matos. I was born on May 23, 1997. I have 15 years. My father’s name is Gladys Matos and Douglas Ojeda. I have 2 brothers. Stephanie called my sister and my brother is called Michael Ojeda. Study in school from kindergarten San Agustin.
  • I’m on the volleyball team at my school. My favorite sport is volleyball. My other favorite sport is soccer. I was in the team of Pelegrinos. Practice the sport of cycling. My hobby is playing volleyball, biking and being with my friends.
  • I want to enjoy my last year at Colegio San Agustin that I go to study in the United States. I want to be an actor and play soccer and if I have the opportunity to be a singer I will be. When I graduated from college I hope to have contracts with novels or movies to record. when I’m famous I’ll come to Puerto Rico to see everyone and to see that Puerto Ricans have talent.
